Our story

Founded by People Who Understand Recovery

Desert Mountain Healing IOP was created by two men who walked the path of recovery themselves—and built a treatment center that reflects the compassion, respect, and hope they wished they'd experienced.

Our Story

Sean Roberts and Gary Gamboa didn't just start a treatment center—they created a place where people struggling with addiction are treated with the dignity and compassion they deserve.

Sean has been in recovery since 1987 and dedicated his life to helping others find the same freedom he discovered. Gary entered recovery in 2015 and brought firsthand understanding of modern challenges facing those battling substance use disorders.

Together, they built Desert Mountain Healing IOP on five core principles that guide every aspect of our treatment:

Dignity
Compassion
Respect
Hope
Accountability

Whether this is your first time seeking help or you're returning after a relapse, you'll find a welcoming environment where you're treated as a person—not a diagnosis. Our entire team believes that recovery is possible, and we're here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
