Treatment policies and client responsibilities

These Terms of Service outline the policies, expectations, and responsibilities associated with treatment services at Desert Mountain Healing IOP. By enrolling in treatment or using our services, you agree to these terms.
Treatment Services
Desert Mountain Healing IOP provides outpatient substance use disorder treatment services, including:
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
- Outpatient counseling and support services
- Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) when clinically appropriate
- Medical detox assistance for eligible clients
- Individual counseling and case management
- Recovery support tools and resources
All treatment services are provided based on assessment, medical necessity, and individualized treatment planning. Services may be modified based on clinical progress and changing needs.
Eligibility and Admission
Treatment admission is based on assessment, insurance verification or payment arrangements, and appropriate level of care determination. We reserve the right to:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate treatment
- Verify insurance benefits and establish payment arrangements
- Decline admission if services are not clinically appropriate
- Recommend alternative levels of care when necessary
Client Responsibilities
Clients enrolled in treatment agree to:
- Participate actively and honestly in treatment services
- Attend scheduled appointments and sessions consistently
- Follow individualized treatment plans and recommendations
- Notify staff of scheduling conflicts, emergencies, or changes in circumstances
- Treat staff and other clients with respect and courtesy
- Comply with facility policies, including confidentiality and code of conduct
- Abstain from substance use during treatment (except prescribed medications)
- Provide accurate information about medical history, medications, and insurance
Payment and Insurance
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate insurance information
- Understanding their insurance benefits, co-pays, and deductibles
- Paying any out-of-pocket costs, co-payments, or balances as required
- Notifying us of changes to insurance coverage
Desert Mountain Healing IOP will make reasonable efforts to verify insurance benefits, but clients remain ultimately responsible for understanding their coverage and any related costs.
Confidentiality and Privacy
We are committed to protecting client confidentiality in accordance with federal and state laws, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Please review our Privacy Policy and HIPAA Notice for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Discharge and Termination
Clients may be discharged from treatment for:
- Successful completion of treatment goals
- Transfer to a different level of care
- Voluntary withdrawal from services
- Failure to comply with treatment expectations and policies
- Behavior that threatens the safety or well-being of staff or other clients
- Failure to make required payments or resolve billing issues
We reserve the right to discharge clients who do not meet program expectations after reasonable attempts to address concerns.
Medical and Emergency Services
Desert Mountain Healing IOP is an outpatient treatment program and does not provide emergency medical services. Clients experiencing medical or psychiatric emergencies should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
Limitations of Liability
While we strive to provide high-quality treatment services, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Recovery is a personal journey that depends on many factors beyond our control. Clients acknowledge that:
- Treatment outcomes vary based on individual circumstances and effort
- Relapse is a risk in recovery and does not constitute treatment failure
- We are not liable for actions taken by clients outside of treatment sessions
Website and Technology Use
Use of our website and recovery portal is subject to these terms. Clients agree to:
- Use technology resources appropriately and responsibly
- Maintain confidentiality of login credentials
- Not share confidential information about other clients
- Report technical issues or security concerns promptly
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last Updated" date indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
